Software

Handspirng Visor Prism     Many developers are now developing for both Palm OS and Pocket PC at the same time, though that was not always the case.  Palm has much more software since the Palm OS was out first for developers to work on, and many say it is easier to develop for, though as the two operating systems mature, the "piles" of software for the new devices tends to be fairly even.  If you like free software, the Palm OS has the largest commonwealth of freeware (100% free software).  Both OS's tend to have an extensive area of pay software.  If you want games (want to buy them that is) then Pocket PC devices tend to have high quality games for you to play available sooner than their Palm OS counterparts.
Psion Revo     Both the Palm OS and Pocket PC come with a number of software items each.  Most include software like AvantGo on your ROM.  They do this because there is some software that was not developed with the OS, and was added it by other companies later.  Microsoft and Palm include this software so you will always have it because they feel it is useful.  Many companies, like HP, offer software extras with there device (software that they developed or their partners developed).

On to the extras
