Smart business: The P51
combines navigation and communication for professional users

Mobile, the new business division of the BenQ Corporation, presents the
BenQ-Siemens P51, a high-performance smartphone that fulfils all the
requirements of a discerning business user. This cutting-edge
technological wizard is the logical extension to BenQ Mobile�s
portfolio, combining the latest features of high-end technology
development, including an integrated GPS module and WLAN.
Based on the Windows Mobile 5.0 operating
system, this smartphone is the complete communication device for the
busy manager who travels widely. Extensively equipped with the entire
bandwidth of today�s indispensable business functions, this compact
all-rounder helps organize the working day more efficiently and more
flexibly. Because of the integrated GPS module, the mobile can even be
used as a navigation device. Clearly laid out routes are perfectly
legible, even in poor light conditions, on the large, brilliant QVGA TFT
color display (2.83 inches, 240 x 320 pixels). The BenQ-Siemens P51 will
be available with an optional onboard navigation solution.
All connectivity options are covered with the BenQ-Siemens P51. Apart
from Bluetooth and USB, this smartphone also has an integrated WLAN
interface (WLAN 820.11b/g) to enable the user on the move to surf the
Internet and make phone calls via Voice-over-IP using Skype at any
hotspot. Working on the road as if in the office � this is no problem
using the comprehensive business tools on the new BenQ-Siemens
smartphone. The Email Push Service informs the user immediately about
newly received messages, enabling fast reaction. Read and edit important
documents, including PowerPoint presentations, in the integrated browser
or editor. The QWERTY keypad and the touch screen allow convenient data
entry with the stylus pen. Moreover, the compact smartphone can even be
used as a dictating machine to record verbal notes. All data are
synchronized quickly and easily with a PC via the USB DCA-150 data cable
using Active-Sync, thus permitting constant up-to-date backup of the
appointments, contacts, tasks and other information on the BenQ-Siemens
P51.
The lightweight, ergonomically designed Headset Bluetooth Comfort
HHB-160/161 that is available as an accessory provides best-quality
sound for up to 8 hours of talk time while at the same time leaving
hands free during important calls. An SDIO slot lets the smartphone�s
range of functions be extended even further using compatible SDIO cards
� for example to include a digital TV tuner or a scanner.
Good entertainment on the move is provided by a broad selection of
high-technology multimedia functions. The BenQ-Siemens P51 is equipped
with a music player (MP3, AAC, AAC+) with equalizer and 3D surround
sound. Optimum sound quality and convenience without cables are
guaranteed by the Headset Bluetooth Stereo HHS-195, which is available
as an original accessory. Day or night, the integrated 1.3 megapixel
camera with LED photolight will take spontaneous snapshots. It can even
be used easily to shoot short video sequences and replay them on the
media player (H264, MPEG4).
With the P51, BenQ Mobile expands its product portfolio towards high-end
multimedia devices geared to demanding professional users. The BenQ-Siemens
P51 will come on the market in July 2006 in the color �Silver.� Prices
will be determined locally.
