Sprint Offers the Palm Treo 755p

Sprint now has the Palm Treo 755p available on their network. The 755p is priced at $280 after instant savings and mail-in rebates. The device is very similar to the Treo 680, which is available on Cingular's network. The 755p includes a 312 MHz XScale processor, 128 MB of memory, has a miniSD slot, and a powerful 1600 mAh battery.

ASUSTek Unveils the P526

ASUSTek has unveiled a new Windows Mobile 6 Professional device pretending to be a Smartphone. The P526 looks like a Smartphone because of its numeric pad, but actually runs Windows Mobile 6 Professional. The device is powered by a 200 Mhz processor and includes Bluetooth, GPS, GSM/GPRS, 128 MB ROM, and microSD. Price is unknown but the device is expected this quarter.

HD Radio Chip for Devices from Samsung

Samsung is working on a new HD (High Definition) Radio chipset for devices. HD radio has been slow to take off but adds additional free channels to US airwaves and better sound to existing states. Samsung expects to have the chip available at the beginning of 2008.

E-Ten X500 and M700 WM6 Upgrades

E-Ten has released updates for two of its glofiish devices to Windows Mobile 6. The X500 and M700 (which I recently reviewed) now can move to Windows Mobile 6 Professional, though you must register with E-Ten to get the download.

Gigabyte GSmart i300 with GPS

Gigabyte has announced a new Windows Mobile 6 Professional device that include embedded GPS support with a SiRF Star III GPS unit. Also included in the GSmart i300 is a 520 MHz processor, Bluetooth, 802.11g, and 256 MB of ROM. The device will be launched in Taiwan, Thailand, and Turkey. It is unclear if any other markets will get the device.

T-Mobile Dash Owners WM6 Upgrade

T-Mobile has confirmed that T-Mobile US customers of the Dash will get a Windows Mobile 6 Upgrade tomorrow, May 4th. The download will be free to all Dash owners. Benefits of Windows Mobile 6 include ability to view and edit Office documents, richer web and email, access to Windows Live, and more. I have been using WM6 on my device and it is well worth the upgrade.

Sprint to Offer HTC Titan as PPC-6800

There has been a lot of talk about the "next round" of devices for US carriers. Looks like Sprint is first to the gate with the PPC-6800. The PPC-6800 is the HTC Titan, with slide open QWERTY keyboard. The device features Windows Mobile 6 Professions, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD, and EVDO. It is expect to launch late next month.

We know everyone is waiting for Windows Mobile 6 upgrades and HTC has finally outlined their roadmap. Of course, this roadmap is for their HTC branded devices, no all HTC devices on all carriers. Starting this month, HTC will begin releasing updates on their website...so keep watching if you have an Advantage, TyTn, S620, P3300, and 4350.

E-Ten glofiish M700 Review
In the PDA world, there are a couple names we hear a lot. One that we are hearing more and more is E-Ten. E-Ten has created a variety of Pocket PC Phone Edition devices, but because they are not picked up by carriers, many aren’t aware of the available devices. The E-Ten glofiish M700 is one such device.
